Professor Luis Draper

Originally from Maui, Hawaii, Professor Luis is a black belt from Aloha Roll Academy on Maui. Now living in Central Texas, Professor Luis brings a wealth of knowledge to judo and self-defense in addition to his gritty, old school Jiu-Jitsu. Come check out Professor Luis' on Wednesdays and get some rolls in with him at open mat on Fridays!

Professor JP Baluarte

Originally from  Peru, Professor Jean Piere (JP) found his way here through the U.S. Army. Our black belt, Kohlby, found him at Fort Hood and brought him to the gym. He has been a staple in the gym ever since with his sneaky chokes and his "hey you wanna know something funny?" stories. He brings joy to our adult classes.

Professor Lea Young

Professor Lea is a black belt under Carlos Sievert and Rodrigo Lopes of Gracie Barra Seattle. Originally from Kauai, Hawaii, Lea received her blue belt from New Breed Academy owner/head instructor, Master Johnny Ramirez in October 2012. In 2016, she moved to Washington State where she began training at Gracie Barra and was awarded her black belt on December 7, 2019. It has always been a dream to open her own academy and is happy to continue her journey back with the New Breed Academy affiliation.

Coach Mat Griffin

Mr. High Calorie Grappler himself! Coach Mat and his family recently PCS'ed to Fort Hood and found a home at our gym. Prior to moving to Texas, Mat trained at the world renowned Team Lloyd Irvin Academy. We are fortunate to have him and the level of competition prep he brings to the team.

Professor Kohlby Hollingsworth

Professor Kohlby, the first black belt under Professor Lea, began his global Jiu-Jitsu journey in Italy in 2015 during his U.S. Army service. Over a distinguished military career, he has trained and refined his technique internationally across South Korea, Colorado and Texas. Currently representing the New Breed banner at Fort Irwin, California, Professor Kohlby will return to Texas and the academy upon his military retirement in 2028.
